alright already! Soccer...

Well, I'm tired of the harassment for not doing the soccer post that I said that I would...SO HERE!! (By the way, it's kinda funny to me that two of the gripers are present at all of the soccer practices anyway, but whatever Jill and Dan...here you go!!)
Soccer practice is well underway and Addie Grace is loving it! She does much better at the real practices than she does at home practicing with Brian...phew! We were worried about that!
It's so much fun to watch all of the kids at that age...and I must admit, Brian and Bill are doing GREAT jobs coaching them!!
Here are some pix...

Pre-K, here she comes!!!

Well, today was Addie Grace's first day of preschool. She started Pre-K and is so excited about it!! I really don't have anything exciting to tell other than she went, she survived, and she loved it...
She chose chocolate and biscuits for breakfast this morning (big surprise!) and then she wanted pizza for dinner. Just so it would be a little special, we at least made our own pizza (thanks to Chef Boyardee), and she thought that was just great.

Anyway, here are some pictures of our day...

Enjoying her chocolate and biscuits on her you are special plate...

token backpack shot...

Addie Grace and her apparent prom date Shelby...

Addie Grace and our tradition of the chalkboard cake (2 years counts as tradition right??)

If you look at pictures from her first day of preschool last year and this year, they are eerily similar...
same bow, same backpack (my sister called me a cheapskate!), same breakfast, same pajamas...we really do buy my poor daughter new things every now and then...I promise!!

If you remember her after shot of me picking her up last year, I expected it to be somewhat the same today, but surprisingly, she was much more together this year...I was kind of letdown!!

Anyway, while Addie Grace was at preschool, I was enjoying some one-on-one time with my sweet Sawyer! We met Aunt Jill and Jack at the mall to play for a little bit and had lunch, which was fun, and the rest of the day it was just us!

Here are some pictures of the boys at the mall...
Sawyer in the car...

Jack is excited about his new haircut!

Sawyer putting on a show...(I think he was serenading me with..."And I will always love yooooou!"...on second glance, it looks like he's on the I-ah-yi-yiii part, not the yooooooou part")

Sawyer refused to cooperate for a picture with Jack...this is the best that I was able to get! Nice shot, huh??

sigh...

What I wanted her to become attached to and carry around with her everywhere...

What she has chosen to become attached to and wants to carry around with her everywhere...

I'm not sure that this photo adequately shows how disgusting this rubber chicken truly is...notice the egg protruding out of it's bottom...nice.

the guest...

Thursday night, Addie Grace's friend Shelby spent the night with us. We had spent most of the day at Shelby's house on Thursday and Jill had asked me to keep the girls on Friday, so I was a little concerned about how they would do with so much together time...but I am happy to say that they did great!! Now, I won't pretend that there wasn't bickering involved, BECAUSE THERE DEFINITELY WAS, but for the most part it was great!

They both know that it's a treat to get to be the 'guest' and as the night ticked on, Addie Grace kept begging Shelby, "PLEEEEEASE let me be the guest now!!!"(that didn't really fly with Shelby...as Shelby and I both know, Addie Grace milks being the guest for all it's worth when she's at Shelby's house!!).

Here are some pictures of Addie Grace being oh-so-happy to be the hostess...

They wanted to go and ride in Addie Grace's car, so Brian took them out. He was sitting outside with them reading and not really paying attention to what they were doing. After a few minutes he started watching them, and realized that they had been washing her car (with the water from the swimming pool). They had it soaked!! He had to take the battery out and dry everything out, but the girls sure were proud driving around in their shiny clean car!!

After telling me a million times that they weren't tired, and begging me to let them play just a few more minutes, I finally got them in bed (10:30...could've been worse!).

As I was leaving the room they assured me that they were going straight to sleep so that they wouldn't be grumpy the next day. After a few giggles and hearing them jumping around...I waited a little while and went to check on them...

I figured it wouldn't take long for them to end up in the same bed!

They woke up at the crack of dawn, ready to play (I begrudgingly survived). We spent most of the day outside playing in the sandbox and the pool...

Bill picked Sydney and Shelby up around 6:00...by 6:45 Addie Grace had fallen asleep and except for about 30 seconds to get a drink of water, she didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning...
She woke up begging us to go to soccer practice...so that she could hurry and see Shelby!
Which brings me to our first soccer practice...which I will continue tomorrow!
Goodnight!

Cousins...

We kept Jack last week and I have some pictures that I thought were funny...
The last time we went to visit BoNana (Brian's grandmother), she gave Addie Grace this little doll bench. Well, it was the hot seat of the day...everyone wanted on the bench. After some knock-down drag outs, here's each of the victors on their throne...

Jack and Addie Grace were able to keep Sawyer off the bench...I think Addie Grace might be holding Sawyer back with her foot and Jack is warding off imaginary potential threats on his left!
Sawyer trying to play it cool in the seat of honor
Jack couldn't hide his excitement
Sharing the joy with Baby Kate

And then there was the horse incident...True to the Sawyer and Jack form of wanting the same thing at the same time...here they are with the horse.

They are showing me how well they share and pretending that all is well between them...

Okay, so maybe the idea of sharing the horse doesn't seem like a great idea anymore.

notice their faces while I was scolding them for not sharing...

"uh-oh, I think she might hit us!!"

Sawyer angrily biting the horse's ear for causing such discord between the usually pleasant relationship of he and his dear cousin.

Jack victoriously on the horse...

Sawyer obviously very happy to concede and share his horse with Jack!! (Don't worry Jill, he didn't really throw the ball at him, although I think he wanted to. I think Jack might have gotten confused at which one of them was getting fussed at!)

All in a days work for mom-aunt extraordinaire!!

Addie Grace...

Well, Addie Grace has had dentist appointments, playdates, visits from grandparents, a visit from her new preschool teacher...all kinds of fun things going on! But one of the most exciting things that has happened with her recently was that she got to be the magician's helper at our friend Jonathan's birthday party!! Here is a snippet of the video showing her in action...

Here are some random pictures of what's been going on with her recently...

We are getting ready for Addie Grace to start another year of preschool. I can't believe it. I was considering sending her for three days a week, but we've decided to just let her go two days again. I just feel like next year when she HAS to go to Kindergarten 5 days a week, I won't have a choice so I would just rather her get to be home more than she is gone during the week for now. We are really excited about it!! Her teacher Miss Linda came and ate lunch with us last week and we just love her! Addie Grace wanted to just give her cereal for lunch because she was just sure that was her favorite, much to her dismay, I offered her a little more. I'm so excited that Addie Grace will be in her class, we are looking forward to lots of fun stuff! I'm also excited to just get to spend time with Sawyer one on one. I know it will be great for everyone all the way around!! Anyway, here's Miss Linda with Addie Grace...she had on her princess costume the whole time Miss Linda was here, but I made her change right before Miss Linda took her picture for the wall at preschool (Again, much to Addie Grace's dismay!!).

Please say a prayer for Miss Linda as she will have Addie Grace and her favorite little friend Shelby in class together...it will be interesting!!! Speaking of Shelby, here they are at Chick-fil-a playing...

A few days ago Addie Grace told me that she wanted to go and dress up like a grown up...then she said, "you know mom-I want to look like you..." I waited anxiously to see myself through her eyes...
It might be time for y'all to send me onto What Not to Wear if this really is how people see me!! Thanks for the insight Addie Grace!!

Addie Grace after her dentist appointment showing off her pearly whites and that she's a member of the no cavity club...

Other than not always wanting to share, Addie Grace really is such a good big sister...Sawyer LOVES her! He'll walk over to her and reach up for her to pick him up and she tries to wag him all over the house. And she loves to read to him. He'll sit there pretty much as long as she'll let him...

You can't see the book here, but Addie Grace is reading him the Itsy Bitsy Spider.

And lastly, here is Addie Grace and Gram reading Fancy Nancy (her new favorite book) and then her and Sawyer with my parents last weekend and then riding her horse Fancy Pappy...

That's about all that's been going on with us!! Sorry you had to endure such a long and random post! I'll try and do better next time!!

What Sawyer has been up to...

Before I begin, be forewarned that this will be a VERY random post! I just haven't blogged in a bit, so I have some catching up to do!! The main thing that has been going on with Sawyer is TEETH!! He has 5 teeth coming in right now...two of them being molars, so he has been a little cranky for the last little bit!!

The other big event in Sawyer's world has been his first haircut!! It has been passed time for Sawyer to get a haircut for quite a while now, but we FINALLY got around to it!! The problem was, his hair really wasn't that long...he doesn't have that much, but he had all of these crazy chunks of hair coming in too and I just had no idea what to do with it! Well, my parents were here this past weekend, so mom brought her scissors and got ahold of him!! No-one will really probably be able to tell a difference, but I sure can...it looks much better to me!! He doesn't look like he has a bad hair weave or something going on anymore!! The above picture is his after shot...big boy!!!

Speaking of my mom, she HAS to call and sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider to Sawyer every couple of days...look how much he loves it!!! (Excuse the oatmeal on his face!) He gets so excited! He'll look at the phone and then look at me curiously, wondering how in the world his Nana is in there!!

The day that Addie Grace's teacher came to visit, Sawyer poured Addie Grace's apple juice down the front of himself, so we changed his clothes. About 10 minutes before we were expecting her, this is what he looked like when he came around the corner...

(look closely in his ears...it was all over his arms, legs, clothes, INSIDE and outside of his mouth!! It was magic marker by the way!)

We had to hose him down and change his outfit AGAIN...all before 11:00 AM!!

Here he is lounging on the couch with the remote...Look how happy he is!! How do they know at such an early age that such a simple act can bring them so much joy???

Jill and I met for lunch a couple of weeks ago and let the kids play. Sawyer LOVES hanging out at Chick-fil-a, and we usually end up there with some friend at least once a week...Here's Sawyer and cousin Jack hanging out in the play area...

And lastly, here is one of his favorite past times with Addie Grace...if they survive each other it will be a miracle!!

She's dragging him around the house at about 90 mph...he LOVES it! Nice...

And speaking of Addie Grace, I had planned on doing a post on her tonight too, but I'm too tired, so I'll do that tomorrow!!
